The Alice Angney Scholarship for Leadership and Service THE APPLICATION PERIOD IS NOW OPEN Here is the link to the on-line application All materials must be received in the VSA office no later than NOON, Monday, March 17, 2025. In 2007, the Vermont Superintendents Association (VSA) established the Dr. Alice Angney Scholarship for Leadership and Service to recognize and honor the 40 years Dr. Angney served public education and the children of Vermont. Dr. Angney’s career can be characterized by devotion to children, dedication to public education, and a demonstrated commitment to excellence. She is a true leader and public servant. In 2025 VSA will award one $3,000 scholarship to a deserving high school senior who resides in Vermont. The recipient will be chosen by a VSA selection committee on the basis of the student’s initiative in overcoming a specific challenge, leadership and service to community, and academic achievement. The recipient will also demonstrate a commitment to furthering his/her/their education after high school. The scholarship recipient will be notified in early May regarding his/her/their selection for the award. The scholarship will be paid upon confirmation of the student’s enrollment in a post-secondary educational program. To apply for the Dr. Alice Angney Scholarship, students must complete the application form and essay, either on paper or on-line, and provide: Two supporting letters (at least one from an adult within the high school) which address: Your initiative in overcoming a specific challenge or challenges, your contributions of leadership and service to your community, and your academic achievement A high school transcript. A brief statement outlining your post-secondary plans. Applications and supporting materials will be accepted via US Mail or email.
